BETWEEN TERRAINS
I go back to smelling the earth in the garden
I go back to inventing poems and novels
I go back to the silence that turns a rainy morning
into the beginning of tomorrow’s world.
Pier Paolo Pasolini
You know, we needed to find each other again somewhere, to garden a little, sketch out a dance step, learn how to take up our instruments again, start singing a new song, even take root. Between terrains! What is to be found between terrains? A few backdrops prescribed for discreet ecstasy, the tail ends of low pressure systems, the glint of tidal bores as remedies for beauty decimated, precious shards of asterisms, the old laughter of thirty centuries that has escaped a broken world under surveillance,
kakapos happily convalescing, sheep unfenced, fleshed-out silhouettes; there, a band of pirates left to us in legacy, here, the amazing marriage of the selfevidence of paradoxes with the paradox of self-evidence. In short, the flaring foundations for shimmering musics, musics that couple with the vivid curves of humanity.
Between terrains! Also a destination. A vibrant furrow where desire for the faraway becomes infatuated with the most heartrending deliberation on the immediate future. And for that, no need to answer the questions in the game of eclectic patrols, we are in good company. The company of uncalculating seasons, where sheltered from falling carapaces, trees can live, vibrate, and sleep without fear when two become four. The Jacky Molard-François Corneloup Quartet with Catherine Delaunay and Vincent Courtois. This is the hour for unswerving excavations and the bringing to light of so many journeys in so many poetries, under such profuse bark and foliage, all the way to the ether’s lair. There, take in everything that’s happening, sparkling vagabonds
along the length of the river, nomads crazed with knowledge, shaking the sky between terrains. So yes, let’s dance.
Meticulous multitudes, possible living spaces, against the noise of crimes, commitments breathing what was stowed of tomorrow for yesterday.
Yesterday and all its dances, all its earths, all its promises. Cadences of the jig, the plinn, the gwerz and other parts in exploratory excursions way beyond the riverbanks, our hearts in our throats, nothing more will be neglected.
Do you see: we’re there!
