THE MUSIC OF WORDS
No one can deny the power that a text can take when it is played, sung, or set to music, nor the extraordinary creative force generated by speech, text, or storytelling, which has been a source of inspiration for many musical compositions over the centuries. This exchange between words and music, whether real or imaginary, is the guiding thread of the third edition of L’Oreille du Perche, which will open windows to four rich musical universes full of emotions, all inspired by texts, poems, and stories from here and elsewhere.

On Thursday, July 25, at the church of Verrières, in the festival’s opening, Claude Tchamitchian’s trio, Naïri, will present today’s music with a narrative echoing the ancient tales of the bards of the East. On Friday, July 26, at the church of Corubert, bandoneon player Louise Jallu will draw inspiration from French journalist and writer Albert Londres and the sometimes tragic destinies of white women in Argentina. At the church of Mauves-sur-Huisne on Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, Katerina Fotinaki’s recital, with her guitar and voice, will elevate the greatest Greek and English-language poets, and cellist Vincent Courtois’ trio, Love of Life, will take us on a magnificent musical journey through the universe of writer, photographer, and great reporter Jack London.

We are eager to welcome you on this journey through different styles and heritage sites to share these precious moments with you that we hope will resonate deeply with each of you, as it is true that the heart has words that only music can express.

L’OREILLE DU PERCHE
The L’Oreille du Perche festival was created in 2022 with a strong desire: to establish a genuine time of shared social and cultural life for all. The programming of L’Oreille du Perche, presented in several churches of the rich Percheron heritage, offers an openness to the plurality of artistic expressions and cultures, windows open to the world around us. This artistic diversity allows the transmission, through the narrative and interpretative qualities of the invited artists, of a range of human values, skills, and worldviews.

Particular attention is given to the accessibility of concerts and the conviviality of the welcome so that each spectator, partner, donor, volunteer, patron, or festival participant perceives L’Oreille du Perche as a « common » project, a space of discovery and meeting that awakens in each one curiosity, imagination, and desire for sharing.

LA MUSIQUE DES MOTS
Nul ne peut nier la force que peut prendre un texte lorsqu’il est joué, chanté ou mis en musique, ni l’extraordinaire puissance créatrice générée par la parole, le texte ou le récit, sources d’inspiration de nombreuses écritures musicales depuis des siècles. Cet échange entre les mots et la musique, qu’il soit réel ou imaginaire, est le fil rouge de la troisième édition de L’Oreille du Perche qui ouvrira des fenêtres sur quatre univers musicaux riches d’émotions, tous inspirés par des textes, poèmes et récits d’ici ou d’ailleurs.

Jeudi 25 juillet à l’église de Verrières, en ouverture du festival, le trio de Claude Tchamitchian, Naïri, une musique d’aujourd’hui dont la narration fait écho aux récits antiques des aèdes d’Orient. Vendredi 26 juillet à l’église de Corubert la bandonéoniste Louise Jallu s’inspire du journaliste et écrivain français Albert Londres et de destins parfois funestes de femmes blanches en Argentine. À l’église de Mauves-sur-Huisne les samedi 27 et dimanche 28 juillet le récital de Katerina Fotinaki dont la guitare et la voix subliment les plus grands poètes grecs et anglophones et le trio du violoncelliste Vincent Courtois, Love of Life, magnifique voyage en musique dans l’univers de l’écrivain, photographe et grand reporter Jack London.

L’OREILLE DU PERCHE

Le festival L’Oreille du Perche a été créé en 2022 avec un désir fort : celui de constituer un véritable temps de vie sociale et culturelle partagé par toutes et tous.

La programmation de L’Oreille du Perche, présentée dans plusieurs églises du riche patrimoine percheron, offre une ouverture à la pluralité des expressions artistiques et des cultures, fenêtres ouvertes sur le monde qui nous entoure. Cette diversité artistique permet de transmettre, à travers les qualités de narration et d’interprétation des artistes invité.es, une palette de valeurs humaines, de compétences et de visions du monde.

Une attention particulière est apportée à l’accessibilité des concerts et à la convivialité de l’accueil afin que chaque spectateur, partenaire, donateur, bénévole, mécène ou acteur du festival perçoive L’Oreille du Perche comme un projet « commun », espace de découverte, de rencontre qui éveille chez chacun curiosité, imaginaire et désir de partage.
