HYMNS TO LOVE<3
Explicitly political piece by Charlie Mingus. Written in reaction to Arkansas governor Orval Faubus’ sending of the national guard to prevent nine black students’ access to Little Rock school in 1957: three years after the law made racial segregation illegal in public education. Unfortunately the subject of racism remains scathing today…
An Arin Arin (Basque dance) for my friend and accomplice Guillaume Saint-James. Inspired, in a tuxedo, barefoot… (Didier)
For my dear friend Marc Perrone. (Christophe)
Dedicated to Uzeste Musical and the Compagnie Lubat’s whole crew, who I’ve known for thirty years now! With a thought for “René Lacaille & Marmaille,” who initiated me to the colors of the Réunion. (Christophe)
A java on a thread, for a brilliant tight-rope poet!
My friend Christophe Monniot. (Didier)
From Ornette Coleman and Pat Metheny, two fundamental beacons of my artistic life that I’ve had the opportunity of meeting, and even gotten to play with! (Christophe)
Tribute to Hermeto Pascoal, passed away in September 2025.
Gabriel Fauréver!
Written on the shores of the Black Sea, inspired by Les Grandes Voix Bulgares conducted by Ilia Mihaylov, with whom I was touring some time ago… (Christophe)
Improvised of course!
